Child, Youth and Family Services Program Grants

The ACT government is opening coordinated grant rounds under the Child, Youth and Family Services Program (CYFSP) and the Mental Health Child, Youth and Families Stream.

These grant rounds are designed as part of a connected and evolving service ecosystem supporting children, young people and families.

Together these grants aim to:

  • provide the right support early

  • improve outcomes for children, young people, families and carers

  • strengthen connections and collaboration across the service ecosystem

  • ensure services are funded appropriately and avoid duplication

Organisations can apply for funding across multiple grant processes where appropriate. We encourage applications that recognise the full needs of children, young people and families.

More information about the CYFSP grant opportunities can be found at the link below:

About the Mental Health Grant

The Mental Health Child, Youth and Families Grant supports NGOs to provide mental health services to children (0-12), young people (12-25) and families.

The grant aims to reduce the long-term impact of mental ill-health by addressing risk factors early, preventing the escalation of symptoms and reducing reliance on more intensive mental health services at younger ages.

This grant seeks applications for services across the Support Needs Spectrum with a focus on, in order, Prevention and Promotion, Community Connection and Supports, and Early Intervention.

Funded services are expected to do one or more of the following:

  • Support individuals and families during the perinatal period.

  • Respond to the specific needs of priority populations, including LGBTIQA+ communities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

  • Engage and support young people who are disengaged from existing systems due to identified barriers to access.

  • Improve access for young people, including through outreach services, services delivered within educational settings, and services operating outside school hours.

  • Recognise and incorporate the role of carers and families.

Existing Mental Health Services

It is recommended that applicants consider existing mental health services when developing applications. Consideration of how proposed services interact with, complement, or duplicate existing services will be an important part of the assessment processes.Applicants should refer to the Mental Health Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) and Overview of Child, Youth and Family Mental Health Services in the ACT when developing applications.

Please contact Families ACT if you or your organisation has any questions about CFYSP Comissioning.
